Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge

The school club has just completed the first round of the Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge, which takes place in 1,200 schools across the country. It was a tough and close competition, with a handful of players fighting for first place, but well done to Tom for coming out on top and being the champion this year, winning the trophy. This also means he is school champion 2018-19 and his name will be added to the champions' plaque. Those scoring enough points now progress to round 2, the Megafinal, which is held in May, and where they will be competing against players from across the county to make it through to the next stage, the Gigafinal. Congratulations to: Jesse, George B, Alfie Hugo, Chase, Edward and Mia from Year 4, and to Elias, Sam and Anish from Year 3, who all qualify along with Tom.
